The Kelce family has been thrust into the spotlight this season for several reasons. Jason and Travis Kelce are both playing for Super Bowl contenders and have created one of the most popular sports podcasts in the world with New Heights. Oh, and you might have heard that Travis is currently dating a global superstar named Taylor Swift.
As popular as the brothers are, they would not be here if not for their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce.
Who Is Donna Kelce?
Donna is the mother of Jason and Travis Kelce. Donna has become an increasingly more popular member of the Kelce clan over the last year with her custom-made Kelce jersey she wore highlighting both her sons, which she donned at the Super Bowl.
That jersey and the shoes she made are now forever enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as memorabilia to remember Donna as the first mother to have both her sons square off against one another in the Super Bowl.
Donna has been increasingly in the public eye as of late, doing interviews and attending NFL events. She has been a warm and welcoming presence to the NFL community as the loving and supportive mother we can relate to.

How does Donna feel about this newfound stardom? Well, she spoke specifically about it with TODAY.
“Every week it’s like something new, like really? It truly feels like I’m in some kind of an alternate universe,” Kelce said on TODAY in an appearance on Oct. 6. “It’s just really, really strange, but it’s fun. It’s a great ride.”
Who Is Ed Kelce?
Ed Kelce is the father of Jason and Travis, and while he has done some interviews here and there, he hasn’t been much for the public eye compared to Donna during this time.
“I enlisted in the Coast Guard, and the Crohn’s reared up,” Ed revealed in an episode of New Heights. “I’d never had that before, and I was sick. I went through most of the basic training with some severe gastrointestinal issues. They don’t need sick people in the service; they need people who are ready to perform.”
He went on to a lengthy and highly successful career in the steel and metal industry in Cleveland, the family’s home city.
After being seen with Swift attending one of Kelce’s games, Ed had some kind words to share about the global superstar when talking to People magazine.

“We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up, and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something, and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around,” Ed said. “Because in the suites, everybody gets stuff, and you empty it down wherever you can.
“And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really, to me, said a whole lot.”
Ed and Donna’s Long Relationship
As Ed and Donna detailed on the New Heights podcast with their sons, the two had an interesting start to their relationship. Donna was on her way to a date with another man before Ed stepped in.
“I was supposed to go out with a guy that night; we were supposed to go to a play, and I never made it. Your dad and I talked forever,” Donna said.
Ed ended up running into his future wife at a bar named fa*gan’s in Old Cleveland Flats. He shared how he originally went there for an after-work drink and was “covered in cement” but instead struck up a conversation with Donna before the rest was history. Unfortunately, the relationship ended after 25 years, but Ed and Donna remained friends.
“We are friends to this day … We get along great; just sometimes, people move apart, that’s all,” Donna said.
It was a decision that neither Jason nor Travis fully understood at the time but appreciate it now as they get older and can better understand the dynamic.
“I started making those connections when I was in middle school, and I realized that they were probably gonna split. But they stayed together for me and Jason’s benefit, I believe,” Travis said in the documentary.
The move was a beneficial one and is something that caused the family to grow and get stronger together.
